Jesus is clear that there is a cost to following Him He doesn’t sugar coat it and tell you that you can have all of your dreams and this perfect life and follow Him. 20 while I’m 20. 21 for my 21st. Returning to my First Love. January 15, 2013. I wrote a few weeks ago. About John’s call to the church of Ephesus to return to their first love, Jesus. God used that Scripture (Revelation 2) to convict and move my heart back to him. Since then, I’ve been BLESSED to spend a lot of GREAT time in the Word over this Christmas break. Since my iPhone gets so much traffic throughout the day, I’m hoping this reminder will help me to better keep Christ at the front of my mind.

If God is just, merciful and full of grace, how do we show these things to someone else who is in jail? How do we not excuse a possible crime but also embody what it means to be forgiven and loved unconditionally? I don’t know. This morning I read a blog by my friend Lindsey Nobles. It was a weekend packed with visiting grandmas, aunts, uncles, family friends, and some of my very best friends from high school… and it was much needed. Although we were exhausted upon arriving back home, I left feeling so refreshed from that time with family and friends. Who carved out some time during their busy lives to spend with us!
