The entire design is open source. Allowing anyone with reasonable soldering ability to construct one. The magnetometer has two major parts, the base unit. And the sensor unit. AuroraWatch UK takes geomagnetic activity measurements from the SAMNET. Magnetometers to automatically detect when it is likely that aurora can be seen from the UK. Our colour-coded system has four levels. Aurora is unlikely to be visible by eye or camera from anywhere in the UK.
