Taking on the French

Taking on the French. Monday, 13 June 2011. Port Douglas, or birds of Northern Australia. Over the Easter break we took a little trip up to Port Douglas. This was very much a rest and relaxation holiday after the mammoth physical exertions of our last two trips. In the end though it turned into more of a eating, drinking and telephoto lens loving holiday. Lets just say bird watching is a lot cooler with some binoculars and a telephoto lens. The view south from the bar area. A much smoother looking one.

Taking on the French: November 2008

http://aussieinparis.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Taking on the French. Friday, 21 November 2008. I wish I'd taken my camera with me as it isn't that often you can get that close to ARIA award winners and I don't think it's going to happen again in my life. So unfortunately you don't get to see any photos, and the lead singer was wearing a lovely sparkly dress too. Saturday, 15 November 2008. Do I Need a New Camera? I had foolishly assumed that all train stations would have a departure board with semi-useful information on it. But we made it there i...

Taking on the French. Sunday, 30 March 2008. Okay, so this may be a bit gross. If you don't like stories about skin rashes or insects then I suggest you don't read any further, you have been warned. So it turns out old College Franco- Britannique. Has given me scabies (those are the skin mites that generally nurses, homeless people, remote communities and now CFB. Residents suffer from). Thank you College Franco- Britannique. Tomorrow. Never get scabies, you have been warned! I finally got back to the Lo...

Taking on the French: August 2008

http://aussieinparis.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Taking on the French. Tuesday, 12 August 2008. We then did the proper tour of Paris, I think I have had enough visitors that I've got a pretty good walking tour down pat now. Heading through the Jardin Luxumbourg , past the French Institute towards Notre Dame and the Louvre. The one thing my boyfriend wanted to see. The next day it was onto the Louvre where we got to see all the famous pieces, I really do love the Mesopotamian section, though that doesn't seem to be nearly as popular as the big painting ...

Taking on the French: April 2011

http://aussieinparis.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Taking on the French. Tuesday, 5 April 2011. The Kepler Track : Part II. The ranges peeping through the clouds. When we woke up the next day we saw that the forecast was for showers. That was unfortunate as we were about to walk the rest of the alpine section before dropping back down into the river valley. This was a 14 km stretch with about 300m up and 1000m down. I have to say by the end of the day I was much preferring the ups. The view from Mt Luxmore. Freaky NZ alpine plants, hiding in the mist.

overwatering: The Blind Assassin

Random musings on fish, life in Sydney, computer science and cats. Monday, 25 February 2008. Continuing on my plan to expand the types of books I'm reading: this was from Annabel. Several years ago. A Booker prize winner, and I've enjoyed some of the others I've read, it's also Canadian and a female author. I just haven't been reading enough female authors recently; though Zadie Smith is one of my favourite authors. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Me - Or, a reasonable facsimile. An Aussie in London

An Aussie in London. When it comes to about me sections i struggle. I can never really work out what people will want to know. so. I'm an Australian free-lance photographer and also a math and science teacher now working in London. I don't mind admitting that I can be a little nerdy at times. I think that there is a little geek in everyone just waiting to come out. Give yourself credit for the days you’ve made it when you thought you couldn’t. Feb 08, 2017. Dec 27, 2016. Oct 18, 2016. Aussie in Romance

Instead of an Aussie in love - I'm an Aussie in romance. I want to appreciate the good things in life and forget all the bad things. Is that so bad? I like to be entertained and feel reality tv now needs it's own station so we can get back to real entertainment. Saturday, 16 March 2013. I'm in a holding pattern. Here I am sitting at my computer on a Saturday - the beginning of a WEEKEND and I don't seem to have anything to watch. Except for the 1600 dvd movies that are in my billiard room. And now I've j...

Aussie In Seoul

Well here is the deal. I am Australian and just moved to Seoul with my wife to work in a 5 star hotel. I hope to share some of my thoughts and comments over the Years I am here! Wednesday, February 14, 2007. I forgot about Il DIVO. You know I was supposed to drop a quick blog about the IL DIVO concert we went to a few weeks ago. They were staying in the hotel, and last minute we got hooked up with two tickets. So we went with a colleague and his wife and ended up 6 rows from the stage! Get me out of Seoul.
