Friday, October 27, 2006. The twenty-four hour trip :-(. The flight from Amsterdam to London went perfectly. Unfortunately the flight from London to Singapore was a little delayed (1 hour - due to 1 tardy passenger) but other than that everything was fine. We flew with Qantas, and the aircraft was equipped with lots of luxury! We all had separate tv-screens on which we could play around 30 films and watch around 20 tv-channels and play 10 Playstation games! Alphen aan den Rijn, Zuid Holland, Netherlands.

Friday, October 27, 2006. After arriving in Sydney, we caught a taxi to Mortdale Hights, where my mum's old high school friend, Maureen, lives. We are able to stay here for the first few days, just so we can adapt, get sorted and those two could catch up after not having seen each other for fifty years! Tuesday, September 26, 2006. Less than a month away! In less than a month my mum and I are setting off to Australia! The date of departure is October 24th 2006 and we will be returning on November 24th 2006. I am adamant not to make any rigid plans.rather just see the trip as one big adventure where we can be flexible enough to take a different path whenever something interesting comes our way. Saturday, November 04, 2006. Cairns and The Reef. Today we had a walk around Cairns. A very nice small town, situated just by the Great Barrier Reef. We bought some more souvenirs (and now we are not buying anymore! So we have to cover ourselves in insect repellent and just hope for the best. So far I've only been bitten twice, so that's not too bad! When we arrived back in Cairns, we looked for somewhere to have a meal - and we found a restaurant that served crocodile tail steaks! I had to try that!

Tuesday, November 14, 2006. Melbourne - the windy city! Today we woke up around 9am and had to hurry, so we wouldn't miss our shuttle bus to Ayers Rock Airport! At 11:10am our flight to Melbourne departed and we arrived in Melbourne around 3:15pm (we also had to put our clocks ahead 1,5 hours).
