Software Developer in London. September 15th, 2013. Windows 8.1’s user-hostile backup story. Update 13th June 2015:. Which behaves like Windows 7 and 8.0 used to be able to back up files. Windows 8.1 is now released to manufacturing and those with MSDN or Technet Subs can download it now. Automatically backed up to the cloud. This is nonsense if you delete a file from...

Kevin Greene's IT Blog. This is a blog about all things IT! Friday, September 30, 2011. Upgrading System Center DPM 2010 to DPM 2012 Part 1. This is the first of many of System Center 2012 blog posts that I'm planning on writing over the next few months and I think it's only right that I start with one of the first System Center products that I began working with back a few years ago when it was System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2007. Keeping the Radical Right at Bay. April 19, 2017. Laquo; Bad Reporter. Dining with the Devil. I don’t think I’ve actually been in a coffee shop in a really long time. I don’t know why that is. What this means is that I don’t actually know if coffee shops still sell gum and Life Savers. When we went out to eat when I was a little kid, I would always beg for gum or Life Savers as we were paying the bill. I didn’t actually want. Bought the gum. At least she stuck to her principles. It was just regular food.

Keeping the Radical Right at Bay. April 19, 2017. Laquo; Insert Joke Here. Rick Santorum, Iowa, and the Republican Nomination. Maybe it’s time for the Republicans to actually read the Constitution, specifically Article VI, paragraph 3. Which states, in part:. No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States. Santorum can attribute his strong showing in Iowa solely to the luck of the calendar. He just happens to be the non-Romney du jour.

Keeping the Radical Right at Bay. April 19, 2017. Laquo; Ignorant or Stupid? Help a Grad Student. Image from Atheism is Rational. 8220;Fundamentalist atheist” is a term I hear thrown around every so often. It’s almost always flung by a Christian fundie who is upset about something, probably yet another perceived persecution. When the term crops up, usually a few atheists try to figure out whether such a beast is even possible. Let’s look at the concept and see if there’s anything to it. Purposes, God doe...

Has veered into whether Obama is worth voting for. He’s not. Not one bit. His civil liberties record is one of the worst in history. George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley, writing in the Los Angels Times, wrote. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are war criminals. Obama is an accessory to war crimes. He’s referring to the...

Obituary: The File System 1973—2011. 2011 saw the passing of the file system as an end user-visible feature within mass market computing devices. Ask someone with an iPhone or an iPad how they work with files on their device, creating, opening and saving them and chances are that they will look at you quizzically.
