Avian Wildlife Center Internship

Avian Wildlife Center Internship. Sunday, August 12, 2012. Taking care of birds is so much work, let me tell you. Right now most of the inside birds are being fed every 2 hours with the exception of the chimney swifts and the ones that are self feeding. We got in an egret with a badly broken leg which is infected and not healing. The vet would not even take him in because his chances of recovering are slim. Wednesday, August 1, 2012. Most of this week was feeding the usual round of birds every 2 hours an...

Avian Wildlife Center Internship. Tuesday, July 3, 2012. Which has Trooper in it and there are also videos on chimney swifts and robins. I also had the lovely opportunity to cut up a defrosted mouse for the baby screech owls. And honestly that kind of thing does not really bother me but OH MY GOSH THE SMELL was discussing. It was worse than the regular smell of dead thing. I don't know why, but it was pretty gross. The owls enjoyed it though. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Unity College in Maine Internship Program. Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Here this ends my first full week of my summer internship at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Already I feel like I’ve learned so much, but I guess I should start from the beginning. Wallaby Walkabout is a big pathway where the docile marsupials can wander around where they want to. Some are especially friendly and walk up to the guests to say hi! Anyways, it’s been a great first week, and I am excited to see what I will be getting to do next.

Unity College in Maine Internship Program. Wednesday, August 19, 2015. Wild baby rescue week 11 (August 11th). This was my final week here at Wild Baby Rescue, and it was almost as crazy as the first week! There was one adult who had evidently been poisoned, as well as four pinkies. Seeing the webbing between their limbs even at this young age was very interesting. Thursday night was my last shift at the center, and it was very bittersweet. While I will not miss having to drive over an hour every day...
