Appian Gher!: Kuth-tha-lam!
http://appiangher.blogspot.com/2008/09/kuth-tha-lam.html
Its a quintessential get away for most of us in southern tamil nadu. I have rarely missed a. Trip as a kid. There are several water falls all over the world. But there is none like the water falls in Kuth-tha-lam. This is the only place where people flock to take bath in the falls. Yes take bath. Countless things comes to mind instantly when I think about Kuth-tha-lam. Bare bodies drenched in oil, big bellies, wet clothes, mountains, greenery, monkeys, sound of streams, fruit market, tirunelveli.

Appian Gher!: Joint family
http://appiangher.blogspot.com/2008/08/joint-family.html
Yes, that was what we grew up in. For sometime there were 21 members in the house. If you think that is crowded, there were about 50 members in the house when my father grew up. Yes, it was crowded, but it was a lot of fun too. That was a different age. Now my household has 3 members. Its no wonder when I see so much joy in my kid when more people are around her. I think it runs in the genes. Sunday, August 31, 2008. Loved the write up! December 22, 2010 at 2:39 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

There are still some of us who throw away left overs. We had family get togethers atleast every other week when we were kids. We typically had big lunch. There was always left overs after lunch. We didn't have refrigerators at that time. We couldn't save the left overs for too long. Wonder how we managed to get rid off the left overs? Well, we had. To make o...
