The Journal of a Wildlife Photographer- Crossroads: Armathwaite and the river Eden- a little nostalgia

http://www.awildlifephotographerjournal.blogspot.com/2012/06/armathwaite-and-river-eden-little.html

The Journal of a Wildlife Photographer- Crossroads. Thursday, 28 June 2012. Armathwaite and the river Eden- a little nostalgia. You know, they say there is something primeval about staring into the very heart of a fires flames. That something deep within the recesses of our mind stirs, just slightly. The smoke, the heat, the smell of burning wood. The hypnotic quality of its dancing flames. Fire, I find, can be more than just fire. A little further down the track and I came across a large group of greyla...

The Journal of a Wildlife Photographer- Crossroads. Friday, 25 May 2012. Silverdale, Lancashire- Secrets and Treasures. Usually I've found myself gravitating to Leighton Moss predominantly every time I visit, its hard not to, but recently I took a trip with my sister to investigate the area inside out as best we could in three days. We knew there were secrets to unlock and treasures to find. Here are a few.I will post fully part 2 shortly when I am able. A taster of other places.. Tuesday, 8 May 2012.

The Journal of a Wildlife Photographer- Crossroads. Tuesday, 11 December 2012. Pied Wagtails. The Invisible Roost. The second question is pretty much always, what are they doing here? I was also asked once if there was anything people could do to help them? Along with other ideas its fascinating that behind the simplicity greater things are at work. I rather like the secret roost. So, I guess I'll leave you to find a pied wagtail roost. Winter is a great time for many roosts. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Expedition Ardnamurchan: Fort William

http://expeditionardnamurchan.blogspot.com/2011/04/fort-william.html

Thursday, 21 April 2011. Today the expedition members travelled back to civilisation, in the form of Fort William, to stock up on food for the coming weeks camping. We didn't collect any footage or stills today, but we did manage to stop off at the wildlife hide overlooking Loch Sunart, a number of Common Seal were present and a White-Tailed Eagle flew overhead. Wednesday, 27 April 2011. Here is a post to update you now we have now regained internet access. Day 8- We arrived at the camp site mid morning and pitched up to the sounds of sedge warblers scratching away from the bushes and a cuckoo calling somewhere from the rocky hillside behind us. The campsite is right next to the beach so every morning we wake to the sound of the tide. After pitching up we went for a walk to check the ferry time tables. Manx shearwater taken from the side of the boat. Ciara and R...

Deal With Nature: February 2012

Monday, 20 February 2012. Getting From 'C' to 'D'. Disappointed by the lack of kingfisher sightings or even calls I trudged back into Carlisle. Spotting a Kestrel as dusk set in. First impressions of this river are fairly positive: great habitats for otters, dippers and potentially owls too. Wednesday, 8 February 2012. Norfolk Weekend: Day 2 "Snow way! Yes, day 2 started with a rude awakening from the fire alarm at 3am. Reminded us to keep an eye out for Barn Owls and literally as he said it Cain. Spotte...
