What's it all about? Friday, 22 May 2015. Burnet Campanion- the first ones have just appeared. Parhelophilus sp- (orange antennae)- thought I might be stringing these with H.pendulus so here's a good one. Fly sp on Oxeye Daisy. One of the few moderate hauls of moths all year. Last nights catch also included Flame Shoulder, Common Pugs, Pale Mottled Willow,. Red-green Carpet, Minors, Garden Carpet and Shuttle-shaped Dart. Finally some kind of summer weather has arrived producing a flush of insect life.

Brightened up for a few hours in the afternoon. 38 1 Common Tern over, 18 Ringed Plover, 3 Dunlin, Black-tailed Godwit, Wood Sandpiper, 5 Green Sandpiper, 4 Common Sandpiper, 5 Snipe, 3 Golden Plover, Lapwings and 1 Tree Pipit proved that it wasn't a bad decision.
