Backcountry Katlin: April 2014

http://backcountrykatlin.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Return to BackcountryKatlin's Website. Monday, April 28, 2014. A Productive Horse Day. As the weather warms up I've been more productive with my critters. I've been working with Reno pretty constantly. She takes the saddle well and lounges well. My goal before summer hits it to have Reno accepting a small sawbuck pack saddle with little packs and ponying behind another horse. I'm so excited for the day that I can ride her! Standing on the stump in the snow. What do you think? Sunday, April 27, 2014.

Backcountry Katlin: Boring Old Life

http://backcountrykatlin.blogspot.com/2014/10/boring-old-life.html

Return to BackcountryKatlin's Website. Monday, October 13, 2014. Right now I'm getting ready to head into Baker with Windancer and Quincy to get their coggins test and health certificate. I think I'm going to send them to California for the winter. Window to heal and Quincy to sell. While Quin is a great horse we just don't "jive" and Windancer has a couple really bad abbesses and some shin splints that need to heal in a drier climate. Whew It's a long day! What do you think? Return to BackcountryKatlin's Website. Saturday, July 19, 2014. My poor neglected blog. I have not forgot about you! I've just been extremely busy. Sometime after the fourth Jane and her husband arrived to spend a few quite days at the lodge before we hosted a 40 Something Cowgirl ride. It was a crazy, fun, maddening, hectic, enjoyable weekend. My favorite part was getting to spend time with Jane while she was here from California. I'll try to do a better job at blogging and posting photos! The long day ...

Return to BackcountryKatlin's Website. Monday, August 25, 2014. Summer Days Turn into Fall. Wait a second. Where did summer go? Seems like I have a lot to do around this place and it doesn't help that I've been pretty stressed. Not to mention I'm dealing with a cold. We've had some employee issues and things just haven't been getting done, so it looks like I'll have to spend some time doing all the little things that aren't getting done. Which is fine. It's all part of being a manager. What do you think?
