Training for a marathon. Bacon. The irony. April 13, 2015. Turns out, I have been running such long slow miles for so many months that I had forgotten I even COULD run faster. If felt so amazing and so very FUN to just let go and run as fast as I could for a short period. Of course, we took a few walking breaks in between since we were running so hard in the sprints…but it was FUN! I haven’t had FUN running in….well I actually don’t remember when. Last week I ran 6 miles, 6 miles, and then on Saturday I ran 2 miles at a race, then came home and ran 17…it was a nasty run, and I had o run intervals just to finish, but I ran a grand total of 19 miles for that day. The kids and I spent a few days in Palm Springs with Grandma and Grandpa Lake mostly swimming:) Jon flew in from Chicago and we headed to Oceanside for a few days. Day 1: Oceanside City Beach, just a few minutes form our hotel. We built sand castles, dug for sand crabs, put our toes in the water.
