What was the duty of the teacher if not to inspire? Thursday, January 5, 2017. We don't need no thought control (Pink Floyd). I'm on holiday in London right now but I just watched a couple of Seth Godin's TED talks. And my mind is back on school. In a good way. Teachers never really turn it off. We're magpies, collecting bits and pieces that may be useful. Well, these two talks were great! I urge you to take some timeout and have a go at them. You won't be disappointed. What was the duty of the teacher if not to inspire? Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Already know you that which you need (Yoda). The heroic journey storyline is close to my heart. Star Wars. Is only one great example of the archetypal heroic quest. Does a great job outlining and updating Joseph Campbell's legendary work. It's the journey we all make. In fact, if we're lucky, it's a journey we make over and over again throughout our lives. Personally I think I'm due for a number 11 about now! Links to this post.

It seems to be as if Ska has incorperated alot of Sarah Thornton's Subcultural Theory, as the music is rebellious to the mainstream and has connections with working class as well as Scottish Party/Dancing subculture.
