Cakes from Kim: Percy Pig bundt cake
http://cakesfromkim.blogspot.com/2015/07/percy-pig-bundt-cake.html
Baking To Do List. Friday, 24 July 2015. Percy Pig bundt cake. This was the cake that I made for a friend's birthday last year. Alex is more of a sweets person than chocolate or cake, but the law is that you have cake for your birthday, so I attempted to combine the two here. And what better sweets are there than the Percy Pigs from Marks and Spencer? Dolly Bakes had fiendishly turned the Percy Pig into cake form, so I used her recipe, which is available on her blog here. 20 August 2015 at 00:30. Salted ...

Cakes from Kim: April 2014
http://cakesfromkim.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Baking To Do List. Thursday, 17 April 2014. Mexican spiced chocolate orange cake. I am breaking all my rules and posting this cake out of order because I saw a food blog challenge that I wanted to enter! This was the birthday cake I made for myself last weekend. I'm currently obsessed with all things Mexican, and one of my favourite desserts in history is the spiced chocolate orange fudge cake from Las Iguanas - if you haven't tried it, you really should. I can never resist it! Either way, despite the te...

Cakes from Kim: Malteser Fudge
http://cakesfromkim.blogspot.com/2014/07/malteser-fudge.html
Baking To Do List. Friday, 18 July 2014. When I said I was going to make fudge, most people reacted in the same way. Pursed lips, a sharp intake of breath, slight shake of the head and the words, 'ooh, it's a tricky thing is fudge.' Well. Yes it is, and it's not often that I find the confidence to say it but here we go. I. Nailed. It. This was a test batch of fudge because I wanted to make some as part of my Mother's Day gift. I took the fudge into work as to be honest I knew it would get polished of...

Cakes from Kim: May 2014
http://cakesfromkim.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Baking To Do List. Sunday, 11 May 2014. Vanilla chai tea latte cake. So on 3rd January this year I officially became a homeowner! I didn't do it. Mike did.). One thing I definitely didn't forget about though was the first cake I baked! It was an easy decision to make, because during the move I discovered some pots of chai powder that I'd bought from Whittards ages ago after seeing some awesome recipes on Jo's blog, What do you make of my cake. The vanilla chai tea latte cake. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Cakes from Kim: March 2014
http://cakesfromkim.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Baking To Do List. Tuesday, 18 March 2014. Well, there's no getting around it with this one - it's a Christmas bake. It looks like Christmas and it tastes like Christmas. I apologise but I cannot break my posting order! At Christmas I was determined to make an actual Christmas cake - it's been something I've wanted to do ever since I started baking, but since I hate fruit cake and also I'm not the best at cake decoration, I'd managed to get out of it every year. This year though it was happening! To be f...

Cakes from Kim: June 2014
http://cakesfromkim.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Baking To Do List. Tuesday, 24 June 2014. The theme for the February Runcorn and Widnes Clandestine Cake Club was 'Bake your favourite drink' and almost without thinking I booked my place and declared that I was going to make a Margarita cake, since that it is indeed my current favourite drink. I made a Margarita cake last year. Fiendish idea for decoration. And how glad I was that I did! Admittedly I done the exact same thing a few weeks earlier with another layer cake and that didn't turn out quite as ...

Cakes from Kim: February 2015
http://cakesfromkim.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Baking To Do List. Saturday, 14 February 2015. F1 themed big 3-0 cake. Mike turned 30 back in June, and cake-wise, this was an occasion I was slightly apprehensive about. I had decided back in March that I was going to organise a surprise birthday gathering for him. You'll have to get comfortable for this one and maybe make yourself a brew - it's going to be a long winded post as I really wanted to capture everything that happened for reasons that will later become apparent! Good job there's not much dan...
