Baking Blog: Home!

http://bakingblog.blogspot.com/2010/05/home.html

Sunday, May 23, 2010. I spent the past week in Palm Springs; basking in the 100 degree heat and indulging in all foods terribly unhealthy (yet oh so yummy). It was a nice vacation, but it's good to be back home and I'm excited to get back in the kitchen! A delicious tortilla soup recipe to come. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Cream Puffs in Venice. Baking Blog: Lidia's Lombardy Dinner

http://bakingblog.blogspot.com/2010/05/lidias-lombardy-dinner.html

Saturday, May 1, 2010. A couple weeks ago I watched an episode of Lidia's Italy. Where she made dishes from the Lombardy region of Italy. She prepared her recipes for Everyday Roasted Duck, Rice and Lentils and Almond Cake Alla Mantovana for dessert. This is my new strategy for taming my out of control cookbook co...

Baking Blog: Tortilla Soup

http://bakingblog.blogspot.com/2010/05/tortilla-soup.html

Monday, May 24, 2010. I wanted to recreate a tortilla soup we had while on vacation in Palm Desert, and when I came home I just happened to stumble across a recipe. I was browsing the Cooking Light boards, as I sometimes do, and out popped an old thread about this T&T tortilla soup recipe. So many people raved about it, and it looked so easy to make; I had to try it! It was very simple to prepare and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Find the recipe here. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Baking and Things | The art and science of baking bread.

The art and science of baking bread. October 1, 2008. The weekend just gone was very quiet and relaxing, the complete opposite to this week – hence only getting the time to blog about this now! I baked two granary/malthouse sourdough loves, following the same recipe as usual. September 24, 2008. I had the opportunity to make another batch of sourdough loaves today. I prepared the starter on Monday evening, ensuring that this time I baked with the starter 12h after it was refreshed rather than 24 hour...

Moist Tropical Fruit Quick Bread. Orange, pineapple and banana blend together and make a great tropical fruit quick bread. Moist and tender, this bread is my favorite to go with chicken salad. We eat a big variety of salads in the summer and it goes great with just about all of them. Maybe too good, I keep having to make double batches! Continue reading →.
