I dream of doughnuts
https://thepatternedplate.com/2015/03/17/i-dream-of-doughnuts
ICE CREAMS, LOLLIES AND SORBETS. I dream of doughnuts. Gina was every little girl’s dream aunt. Fun, girly and pretty, she had an incredible capacity to accept children as they were, even if they were utter spawns of the devil as I was. She was. But Gina Aunty could get me to do anything, even being good. Every time I see doughnuts, I remember her and her love for us. The River Cottage Bread Book. 8211; James Morton. There is female presence on the list in Christine Ohuruogu and Hannah Cockroft; the BBC wouldn’t be so daft as to submit itself to the uproar of 2011, a year in which apparently there was no female achievement worthy of note. The events of London 2o12 made it easy to draw up a shortlist that was an even split...Even wi...

Ordinary World: August 2014
http://liz-ordinary.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
The everyday story of. well, me actually. Thursday, August 28, 2014. Earlier today I made my weekly pilgrimage to the paper shop, Thursday being jobs day in our local paper. The only vacancy that might have been of interest to me was 20 miles away. Been there, done that, 20 years ago. Nowadays, if it is more than 10 miles away, I’m not interested. However, one vacancy caught my eye:. I don’t know why I find this so amusing. Presumably, you’d have to be quackers to apply for that. Tuesday, August 26, 2014.

Ordinary World: June 2014
http://liz-ordinary.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
The everyday story of. well, me actually. Friday, June 27, 2014. Last one of these nostalgia posts for a while. I’m boring myself now and I have more recent things to blog about. On Wednesday of this week, the ‘album of the day’ on BBC6 Music was “Purple Rain” by Prince, by dint of the fact that it was the 30. Anniversary of the release of that album. They certainly evoke memories of summer days and dodgy 80s clothing. Yes, that really is Lincolnshire. This arrangement finally ceased in the autumn of 1984.

Ordinary World: June 2015

The everyday story of. well, me actually. Sunday, June 28, 2015. This weekend, we have spent rather too much time sitting on the sofa watching the BBC’s coverage of this year’s Glastonbury Festival. Highlights so far have been Paloma Faith and Suede and I rather liked The Slaves too. There's still plenty more to watch though. We haven’t watched much of Kanye West’s Saturday night head-line set as yet, and we probably never will. We have seen the clip of Lee Nelson’s very brief stage invasion though.

The everyday story of. well, me actually. Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Adventures in Caravanning – Norfolk Stylee. A combination of me working until 5pm on a Friday and a rather busy social diary has greatly reduced our opportunities for going away with the caravan just for a weekend. The site we booked is only just over the border into Norfolk and the journey time is little over an hour. I do not entirely. I would not have dossed about to that extent if I had been at home. The site we were booked onto was jus...

Ordinary World: April 2014
http://liz-ordinary.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
The everyday story of. well, me actually. Sunday, April 20, 2014. I like North Norfolk. I would like it even better if you could get a mobile phone signal there! Anyway, we stayed on a CL site near Cawston that was very pleasant. We arrived rather later than planned due to traffic on the A140. If there was a faster road between here and Norwich, I would visit Norfolk more often. Anyhoo, we set up the van and had a lunch of hotdogs and stuffed cherry peppers. We only went in for a drink, honest! I liked t...

Cinnamon Bun Cake – Bitesize Bakes
https://bitesize-bakes.com/2015/04/27/cinnamon-bun-cake
Bitesize snippets of my search for baking perfection. Ok, so, I don’t normally work with yeast. It is unpredictable for me – I will either have a monstrous rise that is almost uncontrollable, or the dough will be as flat as a pancake, mimicking cement until I finally give up and chuck it away. There just doesn’t seem to be an in-between. This cinnamon bun cake was absolutely delicious but if I am honest, it was created entirely by accident – born from my inability to tame the yeast. I saw James Morton.
