Monday, September 28, 2009. I’ve been in a mini-mood lately when it comes to baking and these bite-sized pies met my big craving. They are really, really easy. Let me show ya. November 2, 2009 at 5:23 pm. A few weeks ago, my friend T- brought a container of homemade cookies to school. As people got up from around me to try them, I figured I should grab one before they all ran out. My fingers were inches from the box when T- covered the cookies with both hands and moved the whole container closer to her. “You can’t have one! Elissa bakes.”. The restaurant where I intern. Somehow, I couldn’t make myself bring cookies to a professional kitchen. Baking in the Seastar kitchen was n...

Sunday, November 8, 2009. And it didn’t hurt that just last week I found the perfect candy for Elmo’s ping-pong-like-eyes. Actually all of their eyes. But don’t worry. You can also use white m&m’s, white chocolate coated espresso beans or any other similar white candy you might be lucky enough to stumble on. HEARTH AND HOME: German Chocolate Cake
http://theweeklymenu.blogspot.com/2011/10/german-chocolate-cake.html
Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Ok, yes, you totally caught me. I had to get creative with my picture taking since I didn't come to my picture-taking senses until half of this deep, dark, luscious, tender, moist, chocolaty, scrumptious, tantalizing, addicting, rich, intoxicating, wondershizzliciouslamdunkitykitycometome. Ummm, I'm sorry, where was I? Oh yes, I didn't take my pics until we were halfway through the cake. And baby, what pictures. Did I mention I'm a bit of a cooking challenge freak? 3 oz butter,...

HEARTH AND HOME: Orange Cranberry Scones
http://theweeklymenu.blogspot.com/2012/05/orange-cranberry-scones.html
Thursday, May 10, 2012. I saw the most interesting thing the other day. I was watching the news and they did a piece on moms who had emailed what they DON'T want for Mother's Day. They disdained things like matching body scent and lotion, chocolate, anything stuffed and fuzzy, and flowers(which horrified Tessa; who wouldn't want flowers? Or seeing flowers that would look just beautiful in her mom's hair? Makes 10 (I double). 10 tsp sugar, divided. 1 Tbs orange zest. 2 tsp baking powder. 1 Tbs lemon juice.
