Nanoose Streamkeepers: October 2013
http://nanoosestreamkeepers.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 30, 2013. You Tube Wild Coho Nanoose Stream Keepers. Luckily we had so much rain during September and early October flows may stay steady until the rains return. Due to the fog we feel it has been wet but this last few weeks has been very dry. With the flows seemingly stable we all ready have seen several Wild Chum returning to Bonnel Creek and Nanoose creek. Recently some may have noticed the hand made sign along Lantzville rd about. Be proud of you neighbourhood and the greater commu...

Saturday, May 14, 2011. Monday, May 9, 2011. A big thank you goes out to Alexandra Morton for all the work she has undertaken on behalf of society at large in her campaigen to bring awareness about the danger to Wild Salmon from the fish farm industry. Knarston Creek clean up was a success. Some metal still remains either embedded in the streambed or entangled in the old bridge timbers now collapsed into the stream. Over the summer months when we have a fish window. Thanks again to those concerned Lantzv...

Sunday, July 19, 2009. Roy, John, MP J Lunney, Al, Ed and Terry. Today we all met at Lussiers pit and went down to the gas line crossing on Bonnel Creek. Two small pools have become isolated from the main channel along the base of the big gravel deposit below the pipeline. Next we went up to Swan Lake to remove the fish pipe from the dam. While having coffee we had a visit from our MP James Lunney who had lobbied for us last year for funding to help clean up the bay of Styrofoam. Next month he says he wi...

Nanoose Streamkeepers: February 2014
http://nanoosestreamkeepers.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Down in the Estuary. Sea Run Trout flash. Geese honk, Ducks quack. Fish Bone remnants drift by. Rain, we finally had some, seems like it is odd to herald the coming of rain unless in the middle of a drought but rain and more rain is what we need for the streams. Lately the only weather we have seen created by the trees is from all t...
