Bal·last: n. weighty material used in sailboats to provide stability against lateral forces on the sail. Saturday, February 21, 2015. Ten thousand rocks, a dozen logs. And they are more than satisfied,. Winter is kind today,. Our eyes squint at the sun-glared. Sound, happily harsh to our. Mole-ish faces, as we go. In their sandy dens. Tiny claws in our direction. As the women and children. We are a family. At play, our lovely. Saturday at the beach. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Bal·last: n. weighty material used in sailboats to provide stability against lateral forces on the sail. Thursday, June 12, 2014. Be a tourist in your city. Treat the children like guests. Love your husband like a stranger. Set the table for high tea. Use your telephone voice. Notice our strange culture. Take vacations at the office. And make every effort to wonder. At the every day magic. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Scraps of poetry written as a daily discipline to remember.

Bal·last: n. weighty material used in sailboats to provide stability against lateral forces on the sail. Tuesday, October 1, 2013. To ethiopia with love. I rip the envelope. In the Walgreens parking lot,. Flip through each photo. First quickly, then again. While the van idles, until. The kids get restless. And it's time to move on. I drive home distracted,. Trying to see each image. How will it feel to see. The child you lost at home. Tomorrow I will send them,. These frozen moments -. A birthday dinner,.

Holy and shrewd,. Fly and slither,. Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Some carried dirty water. Too far in leaky buckets,. Some bent low to pick. Hard crops in the hot sun. Some kissed fevered foreheads. In ice-cold ICU wards,. Some made their choices. With no choice at all. A stroller, saw a butterfly,. God said it was.

Sasha's World: September 2010
http://caliehulagirl.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 4, 2010. It started with one step. The lifeguard towers are awesome. They add a nice artsy Fartsy look to the beach. If you look at the line of land I got about 2/3rds of the way to the end. I spy with my little eye a crab missing a right claw. Me walking along the rocks. It was kinda windy. I am pretty sure this was a GIGANTIC sand Crap. It looks so pretty until you smell it an see that it is the sewer water.YUCK! The view from where I stood. Searching for some hidden treasure.
