The overall aim of the investment promotion activities is to increase the number of foreign investments into the Baltic Sea Region. The activities will also strengthen the image of the BSR as an appealing investment location and as well as that of the individual countries, regions and cities within the BSR. Tourists from target markets like the USA are still visiting Europe within several days. So there is a high potential for increasing the number of overnight stays through being part of round trips. Awareness of the Baltic Sea Region as an interesting roundtrip destination is not yet high enough.
