Ian Crosby: November 2009
http://iancrosby.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Fine Works in Wood. Sunday, November 1, 2009. Hallowe'en and Cliff Gilker Park. Hallowe'en brought a visit from a cute little lady bug! And a monkey too! Steve looks like he was amused.even if they weren't! Today we went for a walk in CLiff Gilker park, just across the highway. Our neighbour showed us the beautiful trails that wind through the trees and cross over numerous creeks and rivers. The drawer, dryfit, awaiting glue, a bottom and then on to being fit in the cabinet. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Ian Crosby: January 2010

Fine Works in Wood. Sunday, January 31, 2010. We have now all returned from the good ol' US of A and what a trip it was! Don, Meredith, Robert, Steve N. and Roberta during a Masur Birch log and Pear plank search. Jason and Byron atop a pile of Pear planks that were 3 inches thick and in the $1000 a plank range, which as you can tell, was shocking to Byron. Surf's up for Evan as he scopes out a big pile of? This was the smaller half of the Claro Walnut log we looked at. Wednesday, January 27, 2010. So whe...

Fine Works in Wood. Monday, May 23, 2011. From Joinery to the Creek: The Lost Tale of a Family of Chairs. All the parts needed for six arm chairs. Nice fitting tenon. I went as close as possible off of the machine this time. I figured better to spend an extra half hour nailing the tenon stock than to spend hours and hours sanding tenons. Tenon stock, before and after round-over bit. Mortises for twin tenons. A pile of joined walnut pieces. Still just rough pieces so no need to care for them yet. One of m...

Fine Works in Wood. Friday, November 11, 2011. I am loving this blog app. I can stop for 5 minutes, write something and then carry on. This is practically live blogging! If you have yet to try the Festool domino joiner I am going to suggest that you do. Thanks Byron for lending me yours. I might just have to put that in the ol' Christmas list and hope santa's had a good year! I was a bit nervous at first but it does almost seem idiot proof. November 16, 2011 at 4:26:00 PM MST. Sunday, January 5, 2014. Bremer Cabinet: Picking Up. Hey folks. I'm a bit behind on sharing this project, so I'm going to make basically a photo reel post to catch up! Above we have some cabinet side doweling. Then top and bottom doweling. Once the carcass is dry-fit with some dowels, trim up the back to be flush and flat. Here I'm using my lovely chair-scrape because the cabinet scraper was too clumsy for edge work. Looks like I forgot to take a pic of shaping the top/bottom edges.
