I've worn many hats over the years and had varied interests. I have a Master's degree in Spanish and spent my junior year in Madrid, Spain. I've homeschooled several kids and raised five of my own. I've designed and marketed innovative baby and maternitywear. I'm a native Californian transplanted to Oregon, enjoying the vast spread of nature around me. Writing, photography, observation and analysis have been lifelong passions. Shakespeare is my favorite writer (hence the screen name.). More on The X-Files.

Fiction is my main medium, though you'll find a number of short essays and a few anecdotes here, too. Thematically, I'm drawn to small candles shining in the darkness, and in exploring how the challenges and crises in people's lives shape and polish them. I think this is my way of writing what I know without weakening the work by letting it default into the story of my own life. Aaron encounters a daycare giver.
