The Home of Barefoot Kiddos and Critters Galore! Barn Raising…Or Rather…Barn Dismantling. So, what did everyone do over the President’s Day weekend? Well, I do believe that depends on where you live, because here in sunny Arizona, it was between 78-82 degrees the whole weekend! I have nice pink arms and cheeks, and it’s not because I hung out by the pool all day…. Sunday found me in Nogales, AZ, picking up a barn from a friend. 8220;Picking up a barn? 8221; you say? Life is a Journey: July 2015
http://ctrsara.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 27, 2015. Is School Starting Yet? I'm not sure which of us is more excited. :) Hopefully she'll be good and love it. Reilly will be going into 3rd grade, and Jaina into 2nd. So for a few hours each morning, Shawn and I will be on our own! A little bit crazy. I only had to listen to it for 5 and 10 minutes at a time instead of hours. When I put him in a different car than them, though! Saturday evening after dinner we hit the Goodwill (it was half off day) and found a few new toys for Shawn (...
Life is a Journey: June 2014

Monday, June 23, 2014. Busy, busy, busy! We've had several visitors over the last couple weeks, especially since it was Katy's birthday time. Grandmas, Grandpas, and lots of party time. These pics were after we took the group ones Friday, and he was not impressed. We'll be going back in a week or two when he's sitting to get some better ones. Friday, June 13, 2014. He still nurses (! Monday, June 2, 2014. Summers On (a mega post). I just realized that there is a blogger app. There wasn't last time I ...
Life is a Journey: August 2014

Saturday, August 9, 2014. The REST of the Summer: Staying Busy. I hate when I forget about things. Like blogging. (poor journal) It's not like when I forget about the dishes, and they smell iffy and there's no clean spoons. Not that annoying, but still a little overwhelming to think about 2 1/2 months not-written-about yet. All the kids were a little crazy, but that's just how life is during this season. The day after my birthday I headed down to Pima with the kids for one more visit before school starte...
Life is a Journey: December 2013
http://ctrsara.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Shawn - birth story. When all was said and done I can't say that I felt that much worse with my c-section last week (at least for the 1st 24 hours, while the pain meds were still really good.) than I've felt after my other deliveries. I would never -choose- a section, because the recovery is taking so much longer, and there are still possibilities of. Even though everything seems to be healing okay. Not what we expected, but not as bad as we hoped. And Shawn is beautiful...

Saturday, July 12, 2014. The kids (and I) have been looking forward to this weekend since we were last at the cabin for Labor Day.even though it took 2 full days of packing, it was worth it once I smelled pine trees. So many of my childhood memories and family connections are tied up with the cabin and Columbine, and I'm so grateful that I get to take my kids there too. We also enjoyed visiting with Seth and Courtney (at our cabin and then at theirs) and an afternoon rainstorm that was on and off for abo...
Life is a Journey: October 2014
http://ctrsara.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 6, 2014. San Diego/Quick Disneyland trip. So, in early September Jeremy was going to an Epic Chiropractic Conference in San Diego, and had signed me up, too. We couldn't decide whether to bring Shawn or not, but since he was still nursing (some), I wasn't willing to wean him completely yet, and babies are hard for people other than their mommies to take care of. It wasn't as. Did I mention that it was HOT? His first ride - Alice in Wonderland (he enjoyed it more than it seems). The food w...
Life is a Journey: April 2014
http://ctrsara.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 4, 2014. Thought I'd back post a quick run-down of what we were up to in March. The month started off with a bang with a couple days of stormy weather. We got the first real rain we had had in about 3-4 months I think, and it came down hard! Chris and Isabelle Wilhelm were in town visiting (on their way to move to Virginia, I think) and we were able to all get together for dinner and an FHE lesson. It was so fun to see them! This little dude turned 3 months old. We did it! This is also the ...

Wednesday, March 4, 2015. The Wee Hours of the Morning. But anyways, he wouldn't settle down until almost 9 last night (and his bedtime is 7) and then he was up at 4:30, and felt like he should be done sleeping. I finally got him back to sleep, but by then I was wide awake. I tried for a while. Oh, and Reilly did wake up during the mopping. Apparently I wasn't quite as quiet as I hoped.). Life is a Journey: Why I Don't Cook
http://ctrsara.blogspot.com/2015/08/why-i-dont-cook.html
Thursday, August 6, 2015. Why I Don't Cook. As I write this, someone is on their bed throwing a massive fit. There were many things that escalated it to this point, but the real problem was the absolute refusal to finish the last of 3 bites of meatloaf. I haven't cooked much lately, and I felt like I really should, and even wanted. And even though she had a low fever (see, something always tries to derail my plans) it was a great visit and everything went smoothly. We love Dr. Noel and the whole ...So wo...
Life is a Journey: May 2015

Friday, May 29, 2015. I'm not sure how to do this without it being super long. So for our 10th anniversary I had always envisioned us doing something exciting or exotic. A cruise, Disney World, Hawaii. You know, big anniversary celebration stuff. I figured by then we'd be established somewhere, and hopefully not have any tiny babies, and have extra money just laying around or something? Jeremy went once for a NUCCA conference several years ago). It had a ton of character, and was really old-looking while...

Friday, June 30, 2017. Enjoying a nearly 100% farm-raised meal: BBQ chicken (yard bird and canned BBQ sauce), cucumbers in a goat-yogurt-dill sauce, sautéed new potatoes and last fall's sweet potatoes with home-made ketchup, fried summer squash, and sautéed mixed veggies. Only the salt, flour, and beer for the squash batter were store-bought. Come to our August workshop to learn more about food preservation hands-on! Karen, Johnny, and Calvin White.
