Instead he informed me that he had booked us a beautiful suite in New Orleans for the new year! He's always full of surprises, just one of my favorite things about my wonderful hubby. Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Hudson's 3rd Birthday Party. This year Hudson had a mildly John Deere themed birthday party. We invited a few of his 3 year old friends, played some games, and had pizza and double stuffed cookie cake. Love Ellen in the background. ha! We opened gifts after we returned home and he was so excited. It was by far the easiest, least stressful birthday party I've ever hosted. I think it was the first one where I haven't felt like I was working and frantic. A Rite of Passage.

Monday, February 23, 2015. Laissez les bon temps rouler 2015. It's my second favorite season in Louisiana. Mardi Gras! This year the weather for Mardi Gras was simply perfect for being outside with friends. Hudson was very serious at the Centaur parade. He kept permanently perched atop his Daddy's shoulders. We had Soccer Shots cups made to be thrown from a few floats. I thought they turned out cute. The next day, at the Highland, hot dogs that were thrown were a hit. Oh how I love my beautiful boys.

Thursday, September 4, 2014. Audrey's First Day of Kindergarten. The state finally won and ripped my sweet girl from my arms for 5 days a week. Ugh. I hate it. I like all of my babies close so I can protect them. I don't like not being able to put my hands on them. But she's loving it, of course. Her teacher thinks she is just the sweetest thing, and she's correct. Before we left for kindergarten. Oh shit, we're having a baby! Second day of day care. Yesterday David brought Brandon to his first day of “skoo.” Today I brought him. As I drove there, I expected this song to play as I exited the facility:. But when I dropped Brandon off, he started crying and reaching for me, so that song was quickly replaced by this one, forever altering the soundtrack of my life. It was horrible. My fantasy of doing a jig was ruined by the reality of me crying all the way home. Damn you, Brandon.

I know so many people say they love the baby years, but I love watching him grow. The entire time I was pregnant, I pictured myself with a little buddy who walked and talked (and did what I said).
