Barn-Raising: Stitch and Witch
http://barn-raising.blogspot.com/2010/10/stitch-and-witch.html
Our learning journey on and off the farm. Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Last month, we spent the weekend with six other GA unschooling families at Fort Mountain State Park. Halloween is my favorite holiday. Somehow, some. We lined the hall with larger than life fake webs, but the resident spiders helped us out as well. Gillen always gets this expression when he is focused. I wish I'd caught the dimple and the tongue. But for the last few days, we had the younger, more homebody side of Gillen at thirteen&#...

Barn-Raising: Food dancing
http://barn-raising.blogspot.com/2010/11/food-dancing.html
Our learning journey on and off the farm. Friday, November 05, 2010. Giving up control over my kids' food choices was a long, hard road. Floating, taunting GMO, pesticide, dye and corn syrup monsters. Would swirl around my head, laughing at my inability to protect my kids, every time they ate anything that wasn't organic or was too processed. I didn't always. I'm glad to have let go of the protective health fanatic persona that used to try to run the show. Now, food is a dance between following our s...
Barn-Raising: May 2009
http://barn-raising.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Our learning journey on and off the farm. Sunday, May 31, 2009. A night with the Haworths. Friday, I spent much of the day cooking a few of our favorite things. Here are the ingredients for Molly's. Aunt's lemon-dill salad dressing (with salt and pepper too); I used only a bit of that dill. I just liked having lots of the herbs I used (rosemary , sage, dill, thyme.) hanging out around me while I cooked. Here is the recipe. Please try it. 1/4 to 1/2 cup olive oil. Zest and juice of one lemon. In my opinio...
Barn-Raising: February 2010
http://barn-raising.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Our learning journey on and off the farm. Friday, February 12, 2010. In addition, waiting for Gillen to come out of his guitar class one day, I bought a keyboard. I've been reteaching myself piano (it's been thirty years). Crazy, eh? Of course, when you are surrounded by kids who have the freedom to follow every new passion and whim where it may lead, you tend to want to follow suit. Especially when they are old enough that there is room in the day to do so. Labels: learning about learning.

JOY | This Is How We Do It
https://eviecurley.wordpress.com/2009/01/13/joy
This Is How We Do It. Rants and Ramblings from an Unschooling Mom. January 13, 2009. We have had some joyful moments here lately. First, Ryan lost his first baby tooth and then had a lucrative visit from the tooth fairy. Then today, we headed down to one of the parks in our neighborhood and he overcame some fears while we were there. Take a look:. The look on his face just warms my heart. Then, even scarier than the 12ft slide was the (bum, bum, bum) See-Saw! Oh how he laughed, and laughed! We are so for...

Hellooooo out there! | This Is How We Do It
https://eviecurley.wordpress.com/2009/03/16/hellooooo-out-there
This Is How We Do It. Rants and Ramblings from an Unschooling Mom. March 16, 2009. So after much prodding from one of my friends (ahem, Cate) I finally sat myself down to write a post. I didn’t realize it had been so darn long! It seemed like all the boys needed was a jolt and now they’re in a creative burst. For a couple of weeks now, Ryan has had a real fascination with mathematical concepts. At any given time, he will shout out, “Momma! I just figured out what 7 7 is! 8221; I asked him what he meant a...

Clean Up Clear Out: Lovey Dovey Messy Times (shrimp skewers-sides-dessert)

Monday, February 14, 2011. Lovey Dovey Messy Times (shrimp skewers-sides-dessert). Does this ever happen to you? You go to tell someone a story and get interrupted and then the story circles and circles in your mind until you are able to set it free? This happens to me all the time! Another day has passed since I wrote the above sentiments and I am feeling relieved of the lost blog post story. *sigh*. Reference- should have warned against that one). Clean Up Clear Out: She's Not Pregnant, IT'S BLOAT!
http://cleanupclearout.blogspot.com/2011/06/shes-not-pregnant-its-bloat.html
Tuesday, June 14, 2011. She's Not Pregnant, IT'S BLOAT! Poor body image is not in our heads! Every one of us has to put aside the Star* magazine critic in our heads (nevermind NOT buy the magazines), and make peace with our unique shape. (And isn't this just disgustingly cruel? This time of year is always a little tough for me, transitioning from our isolated, insular family in the winter, to working opposite schedules, and living in the center of town during the summer. It's like BA-BAAM (! I am reminde...

Steel Buildings as Dairy Barns. Dairy farming is an important component of our nation’s economy. In fact, Wisconsin is considered to be America’s Daily Land since it accounts for over 15% of the nation’s milk. Dairy facilities are mostly owned and operated by families, which are handed down from generation to generation. That is why durability and reliability are two of the most important benefits that farmers look for in dairy barns. Property in Gers at Affordable Prices. Steel Buildings as Dairy Barns.
