The WhiteStone Name Seeker: I have a new laptop-well sorta new
http://thewhitestonenameseeker.blogspot.com/2008/08/i-have-new-laptop-well-sorta-new.html
The WhiteStone Name Seeker. Catholic mum who loves St Bridget of Sweden and is seeking her whitestone name (Rev 2:17). Tuesday, 19 August 2008. I have a new laptop-well sorta new. I was pleased to see that my old laptop limped through our week away and allowed me to download and save photos and listen to downloaded Catholic Radio programmes. It fussed and groaned a bit-but kindly kept going until we got home. So then I was without a computer-having to grab the odd moment on the kids desk top. I am a Cath...

The WhiteStone Name Seeker: August 2008

The WhiteStone Name Seeker. Catholic mum who loves St Bridget of Sweden and is seeking her whitestone name (Rev 2:17). Sunday, 31 August 2008. Then there are the quietly holy people. They don't give off as much light but there is a definite flame there and it stays lit sometimes in the most difficult circumstances. I think these two sets of people are like the the two men in Jesus' parable with five talents and two talents. Is it the same in reality? A difficulty in the battle against evil can be our own...

The WhiteStone Name Seeker: Sacrament of the Sick
http://thewhitestonenameseeker.blogspot.com/2008/08/sacrament-of-sick.html
The WhiteStone Name Seeker. Catholic mum who loves St Bridget of Sweden and is seeking her whitestone name (Rev 2:17). Sunday, 24 August 2008. Sacrament of the Sick. Who can receive the Sacrament of the Sick? Just how sick do you have to be? In the past it seems to me it was basically for those at death's door- but there seems to be some recognition that chronic illness can be helped with this Sacrament. I don't know the rules. Can someone in chronic pain or a sick child not nearly dead receive it? Some ...

Hilariter: December 2007
http://hilariuspictaviensis.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 5 December 2007. On Saturday evening a group of us attended Vespers at St Peter's presided over by the Pope. It was a moving event, in which the Pope called us to the great theme of Advent, hope for the Lord's coming, a hope he has just medittated upon in his Encyclical. I was with Fr Martin Edwards of Southwark Archdiocese who took some pictures - one of which I hope will find its way on here as a record of the event. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hilariter: Reading Station to Station Churches
http://hilariuspictaviensis.blogspot.com/2009/02/reading-station-to-station-churches.html
Friday, 27 February 2009. Reading Station to Station Churches. However, the link with the church of San Giorgio lies in the fact that at the house belonging to the Passionists beside the church Blessed Dominic Barberi lived. He had heard and felt a call to go to England, to work for the conversion of England (oops! Blessed Dominic died on 27th August 1849 at the Railway Tavern near Reading. Hilariter: April 2008
http://hilariuspictaviensis.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, 17 April 2008. The other day saw another Latin class with Fr Reggie Foster. The course has been such a help and I have seen a marked improvement in my Latin. The classes, as noted previously, are always entertaining: firstly, because Fr Reggie's system for teaching is clever and brings out the challenge and the fun of the language; secondly, because his enthusiasm (and that's a weak word) is so evident and infectious. To which Reggie roared, "Perverse? It's divine and glo-o-orious! I can't reme...

The WhiteStone Name Seeker: Renewing the Bride in the UK
http://thewhitestonenameseeker.blogspot.com/2008/08/renewing-bride-in-uk.html
The WhiteStone Name Seeker. Catholic mum who loves St Bridget of Sweden and is seeking her whitestone name (Rev 2:17). Wednesday, 20 August 2008. Renewing the Bride in the UK. From this morning's Office: (Is 61-62). No longer called “Forsaken,” your land no longer called “Desolate,”you will be called “My pleasure in her,” and your land “The Wedded” for the Lord has been well pleased with you, and your land will receive its bridegroom.". It hit a nerve with me. Phase at the moment. Meanwhile the First Bor...
