First off, I definitely need some support, trying to do this on my own with a family that brings in chips, ice cream and huge Frappucino mixes from the Costco is just not happening. This year’s Bake Off is probably managing the highest of expectations yet; the switch to BBC One last year was met with roaring success – with more watching the Bake off final than the World Cup final – and the pressure is always on the sequel to match such impeccable standards. The technical challenge seemed like it could help ease the bakers into the competition a bit more; what could go wrong with a walnut cake?
