My battle with skin cancer. What a difference a week can make. Stick a fork in me…. The beginning of the end…. One down…two to go! On Stick a fork in me…. On Stick a fork in me…. On The beginning of the end…. On The beginning of the end…. On One down…two to go! A history lesson…. So, how did it all begin? Fortunately, I wasn’t a sun worshiper and I hated sunbathing. I really didn’t like laying around in the sun doing nothing, mostly because I didn’t like the resulting sunburn. June 29, 2014. Over the nex...

On The beginning of the end…. On The beginning of the end…. On One down…two to go! What a difference a week can make. But, as the feeling started going away, the salty taste in my mouth faded. My taste isn’t 100% yet, but it’s definitely getting much better. My general aches and pains are all disappearing. I did a lot of hou...

On The beginning of the end…. On The beginning of the end…. On One down…two to go! One down…two to go! I survived my first month on Erivedge…whew! On The beginning of the end…. On The beginning of the end…. On One down…two to go! Week 1…days 3 and 4. In just a few words…so far, so good! I ended up making sure I had some kind of protein with each meal and snack, and felt just fine the rest of the day. Yesterday, on day 4, I did the same, and guess what? July 24, 2014. I hat...

Mohs On The Nose. More Rounds Of Mohs Surgery. The nose keeps getting better and better. I’ve graduated from the nonstick pads and tape to small Band-Aids that can be cut to the perfect size to cover my graft. They’re a lot less hassle, too. My skin is finally starting to calm down, and not a day too soon. It’s been almost as stressful as the graft, itself. This entry was posted in Medical. 3 thoughts on “ 19 Days Post-Op. Mohs On The Nose. More Rounds Of Mohs Surgery. You’d think that after two previous Mohs surgeries, I’d have enough bandage supplies to stock a small store. But n-o-o-o-o-o. I had some gauze pads, so I used one to cover the surgery site. All I had on hand was paper tape, and it’s not kind to skin (I learned from experience). I used it, anyway. Antibiotics) today and take them twice/day for 10 days, or until they run out. Tape She said I could buy more tape on amazon.com. I made my next appointment and DH ...

Mohs On The Nose. More Rounds Of Mohs Surgery. Dare I say it? I can see light at the end of the tunnel. The scab on my nose gets smaller by the day. It’s still very sore around the surgery site. Doesn’t the graft site look great? Yesterday I ventured out for breakfast with a friend. After not wearing a bandage all day the day before (except to sleep), the tape drove me crazy. I couldn’t wait to get home and take the whole thing off. Post about what happened at Starbucks? Complete with receipt. LOL! Eilee...

Mohs On The Nose. More Rounds Of Mohs Surgery. It’s been a worrisome day. My graft is all scabbed over, and when I changed the bandage this morning, it smelled foul. To me, that says infection. I’m on antibiotics, so it’s not likely, but still, I’m concerned. I took photos of it last night and again this morning. 8 Days Post-Op. My Face Is Still Swollen. On the bright side, if you can call it that, I’ve discovered Nexcare Absolute Waterproof Tape. Doesn’t tear off my skin. This morning I cut a ...Later t...

Mohs On The Nose. More Rounds Of Mohs Surgery. Remember I said I’m not a good patient? Further proof: Today I decided to shower without putting plastic over my face. My thinking was that, if we’re supposed to clean the wound with water and a Q-Tip, water must not be the problem. I slathered on a thick layer of Vaseline over the entire surgery site and took my normal shower. I didn’t let the water hit my nose, but of course, some did roll down my face. Day 11 Post-Op, Slathered with Antibiotic Cream.

Mohs On The Nose. More Rounds Of Mohs Surgery. When I took off my bandage and cleaned the graft site this morning, I was kinda blown away by how quickly it’s healing. It’s been two weeks and a day since my surgery, and two weeks ago, I couldn’t have imagined how well I’d heal. I went from looking like this…. Layer 3, Day of Surgery. 8230;to this. Amazing, huh? Wow, the graft really looks great! Actually, your entire nose is looking so much better. You’re obviously doing all the right things in your recovery (even sleeping on your side looks like it didn’t do any harm). :-) Glad your recovery is going well. October 20, 2014. Battling the OCD Demon. Just another WordPress.com site. A Letter to Pure OCD Sufferers: You are not Alone! On July 9, 2015 by chrissiehodges. Dear Pure O Sufferers,. I wanted to write this letter to tell you some thoughts I have about this type of OCD. First, I hate it. I cannot tell you how many times I have wished that I could have any other form than the one that I have. Why couldn’t I be a hand-washer? Why couldn’t I be a checker? What did I do to deserve this shameful and horrible type of OCD?
