On Sunday, January 10th 2016, the Belize Canoe Association opened its 2016 racing season with the year’s first event - The Boom to Manatee Lookout Race. Eighteen teams of excited paddlers started sharply at 10:00 am from the Old Market Area in Burrell Boom and traveled along the Belize River to end at Manatee Lookout on the Phillip Goldson Highway.
