http://family-flying.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
General Aviation Trips and Vacations for the Private Pilot. Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Flying The Famous Abby Nelson! Well she is to us anyway; famous. My oldest daughter, Abby, has been dancing for quite a few years now and last fall she auditioned to be a company member for the new national dance expo called Dance League USA. At the ripe old age of 10 she made it! As anyone that flies these parts knows, heading west during the winter will almost certainly treat you with a headwind. So I abandoned...

General Aviation Trips and Vacations for the Private Pilot. Thursday, October 17, 2013. Testing Out The GoPro Mounted Externally. So I finally figured out an external mounting location to try on the plane. I put it together and tried it out yesterday. For the most part I think it worked fine. The good part was I did not lose the camera! I am going to the Bahamas Habitat Fly In and Help Out Event. Next week, so I cant wait to see what kind of videos I get while in the Islands! Family Flying: November 2014

General Aviation Trips and Vacations for the Private Pilot. Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Museum of Aviation at Robins AFB, GA. I was lucky enough to have this year's Veterans Day off so Kevin (my friend and pastor) and I made a day trip to Macon, GA. I found the Museum of Aviation. The museum also has a cafe, but it was unfortunately closed for our visit due to the holiday. That didn't make sense, but oh well. That 12,000 foot runway is huge! Anyway, we started our perusing in the main building where we...

Family Flying: Bahamas Trips
http://family-flying.blogspot.com/p/bahamas-trips.html
General Aviation Trips and Vacations for the Private Pilot. When we bought our first plane in January 2008 it was a dream come true for me. Almost immediately I started dreaming of flying ourselves to the Bahamas. A year after airplane ownership, the dream got better! It is amazing that we can take off from Jacksonville and in less than 3 hours find ourselves in a whole new world. The Out Islands of The Bahamas are truly paradise found. Family Flying: July 2014

General Aviation Trips and Vacations for the Private Pilot. Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Great Customer Service - Pilot-USA.com. When we moved to Jacksonville, FL almost 8 years ago, I was finally able to get back in to flying. After taking Abby flying for the first time when she was 4, I quickly realized that I didn't have a headset that would really fit her kid head. So I eventually purchased a pink (of course) Pilot Cadet. Headset from Pilot Communications USA. Image from Pilot-USA.com w/ my notation.

Family Flying: March 2014
http://family-flying.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
General Aviation Trips and Vacations for the Private Pilot. Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Almost Time For Spring Break! It has been a looooooong time since I went flying with just my copilot. So today I picked up Abby from. School and headed to the airport. Most of the flights with the family on board are for long trips, usually on an IFR flight plan, and I am unable to accommodate Abby's requests to fly the plane. She held altitude and heading pretty well. She exclaimed,"This is easy! Posted by Geoff Nelson.

Family Flying: December 2013
http://family-flying.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
General Aviation Trips and Vacations for the Private Pilot. Thursday, December 19, 2013. A Wintry Night Flight. Well, wintry for Florida anyway! The St Johns River, south of Jacksonville. Flying towards Gainsville before turning back towards Palatka (28J). After Palatka, I proceeded to St Augustine (KSGJ). I think they installed LED's in their center-line runway lights. Boy were they bright. Old Town St Augustine. From there I departed northbound along the beach and headed for home. Posted by Geoff Nelson.
