I initially tried using 0.8mm thickness wire to edge the beads with, however I found that this size wire was too large and difficult to bend around the 4mm obsidian gem. Therefore, I went with using 0.6mm wire for the edging effect. It also took me several attempts to figure out how to start and finish the wire edging, in order to give a neat finish. One bead at a time. Snowflake Obsidian and Crystal ‘Y’ Necklace. 27 December, 2011. This necklace is created in exactly the same was as the Amazonite Rose Quartz ‘Y’. Necklace. The only difference being that the beads used are Snowflake Obsidian (8mm round gems) and Swarovski Clear Crystals (4mm and 6mm Xilion Bicones). The necklace measures an overall length of 18 (not including the 2 extender chain) with the bottom of the Y shape being 1 in length. This was a gift I made for a family member.
