HIV/AIDS is pervasive in Mathare and ravages families in the absence of medical care and support. eduKenya operates a Home Based Care program for people living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening conditions. This outreach program includes home visits, assistance with accessing medical care and lifesaving antiretroviral drugs, as well as support groups that provide emotional support and training in income-generating skills.
