And the problem with baby chicks is that they’re addicting. The other problem is that they’re incredibly fertile, especially at a young age. You go to the store and you buy three baby chicks, and then by the time you come home those little sneaks have gone and turned themselves into seven baby chickens. 7-8 eggs a week, EACH!

I moved to NRW, Germany in 2007 and married a wonderful German man who understands my love of horses and fulfilled my dream of living the last 2/3 of my life in the country, with my horse in my backyard. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Mara refuses to calm down. I actually told her, "You can ride her then" but I don't think she's willing to do that. Well now I know she's still not able to calm down up there. Several times it worked.

It's a good thing he's a young Thoroughbred that has a huge paddock and tends to run around a lot. I figure we'll go and do what we can do. Saturday, April 21, 2012. Yves Sauvignon Jumping Clinic. Roxie and Jasper in their big kid clothes. Jasper was a really good boy throughout except when he pulled back and broke a metal tie ring off Serena's trailer. And ran back to his paddock. We begged people to video us. Unfortunately the girl that was taping the second half of the XC didn't know how to use the camera? Because none of it got recorded. :( However, Jasper did his first Trakehner! Sunday, August 26, 2012. Jasper goes camping. Again. In 2009 I took Jasper horse camping at Farragut (this would have been about 3 months after I brought him home from the track). This was pretty much his tightly-bundled-ball-of-nerves expression the whole time:. Note lack of white ring around eye. He's pretty skinny from 3 weeks of living in a group pasture at the Ranch where I work. Where he was very bad. Back home now snarfing up the calories. Sounds like progress to me!
