FISHING AND HUNTING - - - -. ABOUT THE FISHING IN THIS AREA. The smallies average about 2 pounds. But thanks to slot limits you can catch some that run 3 to 4 pounds. In this area most lodging facilities promote catch and release, so we know there are some big ones out there that have been caught and put back. Two of the lakes nearby also have some nice Largemouth Bass that can average from 3 to 8 pounds. So give Crawford and Pocomoonshine Lakes a try. Ice out to September 30. April 1 - September 30.

Jones cabin is a log cabin located in a private cove 25 feet from the edge of Long Lake. The Jones cabin was built in the 1960's, from nearby cedar logs by local craftsmen for Eddy Jones, founder of Long Lake Camps. It is in a private wooded area and has its own dock as well as a picnic table and charcoal grill. Jones Cabin has a screened in porch that looks out to the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-size stove and refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and dishes/pots/pans etc.

OUR RATES- - - - - - - -. The cabin is available for rent May through October. The cabin is rented on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday. There are four beds in the cabin. 650 per week plus the 9% Maine Lodging Tax. Additionally, pets are welcome at $10 per week per pet. We had the Smith Cabin built in 2005 as a summer residence. Since purchasing the Bellmard Inn, it is now a rental property. The cabin is located in the woods on a ridge above the Jones Cabin. There is a wide, gravel driveway. Although not directly on the water, it does have water views and access to Long Lake. To match the style of the Jones Cabin, we had the cabin custom built of native cedar logs. There is a porch along the entire front of the cabin. Amenities include electricity and a drilled well.
