http://stevenhwoodfinishing.blogspot.com/2011/06/makita-gv5010-5-inch-disc-sander.html
Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Makita GV5010 5-Inch Disc Sander. For an upcoming job, I needed a 4 amp sander for removing purposes. I couldn't afford afford the Festool Rotex sander, so I bought the Makita GV5010 5 inch sander instead. I will do a review on it next couple of weeks. StevenH Woodworking: Water Based Stain
http://stevenhwoodfinishing.blogspot.com/2011/06/water-based-stain.html
Monday, June 13, 2011. For the water based stain, I will be using Earth Pigment. I added about 1 1/2 of spoon of each color into the container. For the binder, I will be using Gorilla Wood Glue. You can use any PVA glue you want. I added about 2 1/2 spoon of glue. I then added water. Filter it clean in another container. Note: Only a member of this blog may post a comment. Monday, June 13, 2011. Difference between Black China Bristle and White China Bristle? Oil base or Alkyd primers and finishes require natural filament blends for the best results. Although some synthetic brushes say "For All Paints", they can't beat natural animal hair. Synthetic brushes loose there shape in oil base paints and primers, an oil paint brush must be stiff enough to hold its shape and soft enough not to leave to many brush marks. StevenH Woodworking: How To Make Stain
http://stevenhwoodfinishing.blogspot.com/2011/06/how-to-make-stain_12.html
Sunday, June 12, 2011. How To Make Stain. To Make stain you will need the following products:. Artist color tubes or powder pigments. Tung oil will work also . Mineral Spirits or Paint Thinner . If your using the oil based artist color, then you do not need to add the boiled linseed. At the factory they added it already. Just mix it with mineral spirits or paint thinner. I will be using Earths Pigment. You can order their $29 pigment kit from their website. Then I added 1-tsp of boiled linseed oil.
