Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Sold the Blue Horseshoes at the Abbey show, along with two other paintings and a print. Although the big daddy original is now gracing the walls of a beach house, I do still have prints of this available in various sizes. I really had fun with this piece and might do a few more studies of sea creatures along this line. Sea creatures and insects. Friday, July 31, 2009. 100 Paintings in 1 Week. Lots of people do the 100 paintings in 100 days, or the painting a day for a year, but I'm attempting a slightly more daunting challenge. Pressed for time, as usual, I am currently attempting to paint 100 small paintings in the next 7 days. This will be my first time doing this type of show and I'm hoping it will be fun. Hanging out on the boardwalk for three days can't be bad, right? Unless it's raining. Please don't let it rain. Eighty-five more to go!

On Saturday, April 9, all day at the Ramada in Pottsville, Pa. Ooooh, that makes it sound a bit. All day at the Ramada. Please hear me saying that with a slight Cockney accent.). Thursday, March 03, 2011. Art of the Flower Exhibit. My pastel "Cherry Blossoms" was accepted for the Philadelphia Sketch Club's "Art of the Flower" exhibit. Initially, I wasn't pleased with the piece and almost didn't bother framing it. Just goes to show that I never can tell what jurors are going to like. The opening is on Sunday. The Philadelphia Sketch Club recently celebrated it's 150th anniversary. It is America's oldest continuing arist organization. Labels: art of the flower. Joe Sweeney, Artist.
