In one of the main streets of the Trier old town, I was amazed to discover that half a house had disappeared where I could swear there used to be a whole house. Here’s the reason why the house in my last post was only half a house: it’s because right next door, right alongside a main street in the Trier old town, they appear to be excavating Roman ruins. Maikammer. Is a small town of just over 4000 inhabitants in the Pfalz (Palatinate) region and on the famed German Weinstraße.
