Hole in my Heart (finally, a new song). February 22, 2010 at 9:31 am Posted in song ideas. In 2008 I wrote a bunch of songs pretty much all at once. I started this “music journal” to keep track of stuff, and everything was lovely. but then for some reason I didnt write songs for a good while, even though I was trying. I guess the inspiration left, or I was distracted, or my creativity killed by stuff I wont go into now, or who-knows-what. Listen: Hole in my Heart by Bob Wiegers. I cry tears of sorrow.

Been a while…. February 22, 2010 at 9:06 am Posted in song ideas. Obviously I havent posted here in a while. a quick recap of the last few months would mostly involve family life and church stuff, and not so much songwriting or performing. I am still doing music at church however and I’m thankful I can do a little there. perhaps I’ll resurrect this spot since I’ve been thinking more about songwriting again. I was able to take in a flatpicking guitar class at Folk School of Chattanooga, which was great!

8220;Hidden Place” by Sandra McCracken. April 14, 2010 at 2:37 pm Posted in listening to. Some songs just make me stop in my tracks and listen intently, like watching a beautiful and mysterious bird sing its little heart out, while (if you’ll forgive a little melodrama) perhaps a tear is shed for the sheer loveliness of it all. Songs like “Hidden Place” by Sandra McCracken (whose new album will be released shortly, and I highly recommend you go get it here. So, while I was at work listening and shedding ...

Another show at Pasha! April 24, 2009 at 10:47 am Posted in Chattanooga. The first show went so well that they’re having us back tonight! I’m very excited that Michelle is joining me on the majority of the songs, and Mark will be playing bass too. so this should be a lot of fun. Also, we’re playing Prater’s Mill. This fall, which should be really cool. I’m looking to fill in a few shows this summer and fall, so we’ll see what comes up. Leave a Comment ». Feed for comments on this post. Gillian Welch, Bud...

Gridbook Notes: Bearing Witness -July 4th
http://gridbooknotes.blogspot.com/2009/07/today-as-americans-celebrate-our.html
Personal Blog of John Whittemore. Saturday, July 4, 2009. Bearing Witness -July 4th. Today as Americans celebrate our liberty, it is proper to consider the plight of those who struggle under oppression:. I justified spending so much energy on this because I have occasionally helped by passing messages for protesters so they can hide their identities from authorities, but I have wondered how much of my interest was just morbid curiosity for sensational events? Last weekend we went to a candlelight vigil.

Gridbook Notes: Life Right Now
http://gridbooknotes.blogspot.com/2009/07/life-right-now.html
Personal Blog of John Whittemore. Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Sorry I haven't posted much news recently. A lot has happened since I last posted:. I resigned from my position as a Primary Care Doctor at the community clinic in Oglethorpe County. I still love primary care and love the patients I left there, but that clinic wasn't the right place for me. Over the year I worked there it became obvious that I had very fundamental differences with the clinic's management. I love the picture! TMD and Bob Dylan.
