Yet another sewing blog. Purple Plaid Pyjamas …. →. My First Tiramisu (that didn’t quite work). February 6, 2013. If you read here regularly you may be aware that I’ve bought quite a few fabrics with the intention of making Steph’s Tiramisu. Well, I’ve made my first version which was intended to be a wearable muslin, but it didn’t quite work out that way. This is totally my fault, because sometimes I’m an idiot🙂. The photos make it look pretty good on Dolly, if you don’t look too carefully. And I’...

SewRuth has moved to http:/ corecouture.wordpress.com/ All original posts are available on wordpress. Saturday, 26 May 2012. To the future and beyond. I will not be completely sewing-free. I bought this book and am fascinated by the shapes and twists and turns that can be made with a bit of fabric. Ideas are just pinging round my head and I fall asleep with fantastical garment plans that will never be made. Now that I've passed the Burda pattern tracing examination with this. A hint to pass on to you.

SewRuth: September 2012
http://sewruth.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
SewRuth has moved to http:/ corecouture.wordpress.com/ All original posts are available on wordpress. Saturday, 29 September 2012. Vogue 1204 Issey Miyake shirt. In this particular case I did actually read the Pattern reviews. BEFORE I made this, usually I read them after I've made things! The main area to watch out for is the stand up collar. The pattern is rated advanced but I think 'awkward' would be a better description. Admits to having sewed this and ripped and sewed - so I didn't feel too bad.

Red Wedding | Nonsuch
https://nonsuchsewing.wordpress.com/2016/10/30/red-wedding
October 30, 2016. Now that I have your attention…. I made this dress for S to wear to her boyfriend’s brother’s wedding. It is in red cotton lace from Tessuti which was the fabric you could use for a recent competition. It is a mash-up of a couple of Burda patterns with oh-so-clever self-drafted skirt (! And zip moved to the side. The wedding theme was “vintage-y” and I was also pressed into action to sew up the some 27 metres of bunting which are shown in the end pictures. What a handsome couple!
