Daughters of Junia: For the Love of God, Don't Get to Know Any Sinners

Sunday, October 2, 2011. For the Love of God, Don't Get to Know Any Sinners. I was planning on writing a completely different blog post today but was stopped short in my tracks by a quote from Stacy McDonald, co-author of the book. Passionate Housewives Desperate for God. I haven't personally read the book and I had read only a few pieces by her before (most notably her very unfavorable and dismissive review of. Letter from a 17-year-old feminist.". Um Wow. Really? Men (there's no qualifier here, so I ha...

pfamilygal: Swimming the Tiber
http://pfamilygal.blogspot.com/2014/04/swimming-tiber.html
Saturday, April 05, 2014. Looking at the doctrines of various denominations, it became clear that only a select few taught the Real Presence. Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox both teach transubstantiation, and Lutherans teach something just short of it - that Christ is truly present in the sacrament, although the species themselves remain bread and wine. So the field narrowed fairly quickly. I didnt know you were Catholic, Anita! Im sorry you were treated poorly at ORU. What it all means.

Tuesday, April 08, 2014. Umm, yeah, not exactly what I was going for there. So I read this story. The other day and the last line caused me to burst out in unexpected tears. I decided to try his words with Leah Claire. I'd just given her a bath and as I helped her get her jammies on I was telling her how smart and kind and precious she is to me. I stopped, looked deep into her baby blues and asked her, "Where are you the most beautiful? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What it all means.

Monday, October 15, 2012. The end of the story. Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. Not exactly a holiday you wish to celebrate. Someday I will hold those children again: the ones whose feet never touched this earth, but were born directly into the courts of the Living God. Someday He will wipe every tear from our eyes and we will be together again. May God Himself comfort all who grieve their babies, and may He daily reassure us that this world is not the end. Remember the Complementarian Woman | I Prefer Captain
http://iprefercaptain.com/2016/03/remember-the-complementarian-woman
Remember the Complementarian Woman. Remember the Complementarian Woman. I spent the first eight years of my marriage as a strong Complementarian woman. I have always deeply loved and respected my husband, believed in the infalliblity and inerrancy of scripture, and knew that God’s ways were not my ways. I saw nothing but good intentions in my leaders, and saw nothing but good fruit in my marriage. Then slowly, over time, that fruit turned sour, then rotten, and then died altogether. NONE of this is true.

Retha's ramblings on religion, reality, reasoning, things I read, and random other topics. March 18, 2015. Where is God when bad things happen? How could God allow it? It is a very old question:. Where is God when bad things happen? How could God allow it? The topic even has a big name – theodic ity. Now, I have read a lot of head answers to the theodicity question. But this is not just a head question, it is very much a heart question. In my opinion, the apologists. D not the head. Or He could have made...

From Bitter Waters to Sweet: Katie Botkin on Phillips

From Bitter Waters to Sweet. Series 2008 and 2009. The Name of the Lord is. Welcome to "From Bitter Waters to Sweet". As I walked the streets of my small midwest town praying for the people and the churches of the town, the words came to me, "Make bitter waters sweet.". Those words made no sense at the time. Surely if those words actually came from God they weren't about me. I, the pastor's wife, had a life that other women in my church envied. A Sermon on Shame and the Bent-Backed Woman.
