Agreeable Like Spring: Happy Thanksgiving And Beyond
http://agreeablelikespring.blogspot.com/2014/11/happy-thanksgiving-and-beyond.html
Saturday, November 29, 2014. Happy Thanksgiving And Beyond. I hope everyone had a wonderful day! I had yesterday (Wed.) off so I'm in the middle of an already too-short five-day weekend. (This next paragraph I wrote on FB and I'm including it here for the stone-age-loving members of our family and friends who don't "do" Face Book, so those of you who have already read it, it won't hurt m feelings if you skip over this part.). Even if we are a couple of soup sandwiches sometimes.as we were today. So, afte...

Agreeable Like Spring: September 2014
http://agreeablelikespring.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 8, 2014. We Used To Be Camping, And Now We're Not. I've camped in deserts, high mountains, flatlands, on the beach, against rocky outcroppings, along side creeks and rivers and ravines, in trenches and even unexpectedly in strangers living rooms. I've been shelterd under ice and snow ceilings, canvas, nylon, newspaper, stalactites, polyester, roped-together pine bows and nothing but moon and stars. (How do you pluralize the word, "lean-to? He was thrilled and unpinnable. We had entered ...

Agreeable Like Spring: August 2014
http://agreeablelikespring.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 29, 2014. I was just rolling along through my life, minding my own and anyone else's business that seemed interesting to me, when BAMMO! I came up against it. View from my hospital room. The story so far as it's been told to me and then eventually what little bit I can recall on my own (with more "reflections" and inner dialog to come in a later post:). Brain without oxygen for how long? Maybe 20-30 minutes or longer? Plenty of ribs broken. Artificial resuscitation and a trip to the ho...

Agreeable Like Spring: December 2013
http://agreeablelikespring.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 30, 2013. But, what about all those Christmas intentions I intended to post. I had so many ideas in my head this year, mostly unprofound ideas about how profound reality really is, as if reality is a real thing. Even at Yuletide. My big Gift this year? These two. Right here at home. The end of a year that required of us much energy. An endearing and peaceful time. Saturday, December 14, 2013. Sugar Ghosts of Christmas Past. A few food-related Christmassies (which doesn't really look righ...

Wednesday, October 22, 2014. These Days, It's All About Apples And Pumpkins. What does it do to you to see apples floating in a bucket of water? Does it make you a kid again? In a place that just absolutely can't exist any more? Somewhere like, oh I don't know.the past? Back there where those very apples actually tasted like apples? Like 40 or more varieties of apples? In one grange hall? Just ask this kid; he'll tell you. Another day, another tractor ride. And wagon ride and bounce walk. And kit...Reall...

Agreeable Like Spring: Fractured Thriday
http://agreeablelikespring.blogspot.com/2014/11/fractured-thriday.html
Friday, November 14, 2014. Douglas Adams, The Salmon of Doubt. Hitchhiking the Galaxy One Last Time. I work 4 ten-hour days and normally have Friday as part of my weekend. People in my office often make reference to Thursday being our Friday by calling it Thriday. It's cutesy, I know, and if I'm anything, it is not cutesy, but I'll take it now because I don't think I'm cut out for writing in a blog every day of the week. I got Way-layed on Wednesday. And now Thursday is Through. I started on Saturday!

Agreeable Like Spring: Wild And Wonderful Western Washington Wednesday
http://agreeablelikespring.blogspot.com/2014/11/wild-and-wonderful-western-washington.html
Thursday, November 13, 2014. Wild And Wonderful Western Washington Wednesday. On the networked trails of Priest Point Park here in Olympia. At the heart of this 314-acre park is about a mile of saltwater shoreline, too, but no pictures of that area today. I like to take pictures of Katy taking pictures. Looks like a great hike to me! November 13, 2014 at 11:31 PM. It was a very pleasant hike, Jerry. Nice level terrain for toddlers and near-dodderers, of which I almost are one. :). I'm here, too. The 12 B...

Agreeable Like Spring: April 2014
http://agreeablelikespring.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 19, 2014. A Little Bit of Artistic Chivalry in Homer, AK. I took the turn off and the road seemed passable, in the beginning, so I continued, but with a certain amount of caution. By caution, I mean I repeated the mantra "Boy, I hope I don't get stuck up here," several times over in my head. (Like that redundant sort of sentence? I was in a rented car and regretted not having my own car which had stood me very well in Alaska winters! Then, a door to the little cabin opened, and out walked...

Agreeable Like Spring: January 2014
http://agreeablelikespring.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 5, 2014. I've Had A Few. And I will have a few more. For example, I will probably never get to see this view in real life:. And I want to. I really want to. I've wanted to since I watched Haley Mills hanging from that windmill back in the 60s. Naturally, I mean the whole movie, and not just in part due to that other-worldly, romantic title,. Http:/ gorges-smythe.blogspot.com/2014/01/still-learning-to-let-go.html. One new friend across the street from my grandparents house. An alliance wit...
