EggNation: October 2007
http://eggnation.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 23, 2007. After the brisket cooked we brought the temp up on the egg to 375 degrees and in a little more than an hour had a hot fresh pumpkin pie to eat for dessert! How awesome is that? Top that bad boy with a little cool whip and we are good to go! Posted by The Alfster. We got the egg up to temperature, 225 degrees, added some smoking chunks, the plate setter and then set the brisket down on the grid to begin cooking. We. Definately the best I have done to date. We slopped a littl...

502 Millbrook Lane: March 2013
http://502millbrooklane.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
My two cents about travel, food and life in general. Sunday, March 31, 2013. I enjoy visiting the markets in Europe, because they allow me to meet the people as they go about their daily lives. Since Paris has so many markets, I figured I'd better have to have a plan for my upcoming trip. I recently purchased the book Markets of Paris. I'll be taking this book to Paris. I'm sure I'll be checking out the museums, but the markets are where I'll really learn about the local culture. I'm so excited! Meatball...

Will there be food there?: Vietnamese Cookin' in La Honda
http://ennovychen.blogspot.com/2010/07/vietnamese-cookin-in-la-honda.html
Will there be food there? Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Vietnamese Cookin' in La Honda. Do any of you know where La Honda is? Ok so I had no idea either until my boyfriend invited me there to eat dinner one night. Truthfully, I was a little scared to go since it's about 10-15 miles into the woods of Skyline off Woodside Road in Palo Alto, and at night it's kinda creepy.BUT it is an amazing place during the day! What food don't I like? Below are the chicken thighs. Jeff marinated them in fish sauce, mint,...

Picking the Grill that’s Right for YOU. 8220;That’s Great…but what should I get! THE BIG GREEN EGG. As for size… I’d recommend the Large. The Large is their original size. The XL is MUCH more expensive… and the medium is only around $150 less and cannot fit a whole turkey in it. If you think you will want to slow smoke large meats…but still have...

What's a water smoker? - Steve Friedl's SmokeBlog
http://smokeblog.unixwiz.net/2010/02/whats-a-water-smoker.html
Laquo; Starting my smokeblog. What's a water smoker? Before digging too much into my own personal smoking adventure, I figure that not everybody knows exactly how smoking works: what better way to start than by clearing this up? We're all familiar with the traditional grill, where charcoal or gas heat directly cooks the food, but a water smoker. Provides for adding wood chips/chunks to the heat to produce smoke, and interposes an actual pan of water. I'll note that this is hot. The latter still uses smok...

Big Green Egg: July 2006
http://burwickbge.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Big Green Egg recipes and stories from a family of "Eggheads". Monday, July 31, 2006. Doug carved it last night and refrigerated the meat. I took it to a church picnic today. It was good, with a light smoky flavor. I must let you know that the rub I used was a modified BGE rub. I added more paprika and some brown sugar to the regular BGE rub. Since I don't like a spicy flavor and was afraid of adding too much salt, this tempered the saltiness and peppery flavor. Sunday, July 09, 2006. Anyway, the pizzas ...

Big Green Egg: October 2008
http://burwickbge.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Big Green Egg recipes and stories from a family of "Eggheads". Monday, October 06, 2008. Hey, I know it's been over a year since we've posted anything here, but that's about to change. You see, this weekend was Energy Star Tax Holiday in Georgia, so we took the opportunity to invest in an upright freezer. It wasn't just a random appliance purchase, however. And what does a freezer have to do with our Big Green Egg, you ask? Fear not.there is a method to our madness. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
