Thinking Out Loud - With Paint n' Stuff. Monday, July 14, 2014. Summer Studio 2014: Here we go. Temps have been cool in the evenings now and I'm back on the horse. Started a painting 2 days ago (no title yet) but will post the progression for fun. I started with a board which has been coated with gesso and it's been sanded and a transfer of an antique photograph has been applied. I have been altering the scene with acrylics. So far, so good. The last of the Railway Hotels along the Santa Fe Line. La Posada, in Winslow Arizona, has been lovingly restored. Click here for a great story and history. Thinking Out Loud - With Paint n' Stuff. Thursday, July 31, 2014. Meanwhile, I will try and settle on a title. Usually I have one early on but I'm a bit torn this time. I originally thought I would call it " Love on the Rocks" but now I'm thinking "Lighthouse Keeper". Next steps will be to hand this off to my fellow artist Shari MacLeod. She has agreed once again to brainstorm with me and create a frame for my painting. I am excited about this! Shari has a a wonderful imagination and oodles of talent.

BIG HILL POTTERY'S BLOG. Here’s to a New Year. This being the 2nd day of 2016 i am thinking back over the past year…it has been a wonderful year, full and rich….and i think i actually sold more pots! Just a few highlights…. The first show was our 2nd annual “Holiday Affair” show at the Centre for Craft and Design in Sydney. Here’s a few shots of my display, Sarah’s display (another potter) and Sandra and Peter’s display – amazing jewelry. This weekend will be my last in the pottery for the next 3 months!
