Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Fishing report and open dates. The Bighorn here in Thermopolis is flowing at 1350cfs. There is quite a bit of grass and floating moss which makes the nymph fishing pretty tough.just slap it off and get it back out there. Drowned Tricos are the ticket in the morning. A body of white marabou and barred rabbit with tuft of white bucktail and a 6mm pink pearl plastic bead at the hinge point. Topped off with pink rubber legs, silver and opal flash, and a head of E.P. Sparkle Brush, hackled over large barbell eyes. They just can't let it get past 'em. Tied on Daiichi hooks. Size 4 rear hook, size 2 front hook. Click the photo to enlarge and see details.

He reqested an order of flies with the same color scheme as the G.P. but with a slim goose wing to enable the fly to sink very quickly in fast currents. Black, pink and chartreuse with a hint of blue make this fly deadly under any conditions. Everything a steelhead could want. Tied on a heavy wire shank with 30lb Fireline threaded through the rabbit.
