Astrologically Incompetent: July 2006

Saturday, July 08, 2006. I really haven't been having much luck finding a summer job. I'm actually rather apathetic about it; I mean, I would love the extra spending money, but the application process is such a hassle. I know, I know, I'll never find a job with that attitude. Will Target hire me? Okay, the rising sign is Scorpio, so Mars is my significator. Mars is in Leo (where he's not particularly powerful - essential dignity, yes? So, that looks pretty promising. For the Tayle of the Dragon. I'm pret...

Saturday, April 29, 2006. No season is more fitting for Venus than Spring:. In spring the earth gleams, in spring the ground's soft,. Now the grass pokes its tips through the broken soil,. Now the vine bursts in buds through the swollen bark. And lovely Venus deserves this lovely season,. And is joined again to her darling Mars:. In Spring she tells the curving ships to sail, over. Her native seas, and fear the winters threat no longer.". Posted by the incompetent astrologer at 6:07 PM. I really haven't ...

Saturday, October 22, 2005. A Special Prism Presentation. The other day I gave a quick, one hour long presentation about astrology. Which is the school's diversity group. And stand-in for a GSA*. We're always looking for fun, eclectic things to do and I jumped at the opportunity to debunk some of the common stereotypes about astrology and how it's practiced. I had the audience divide itself into groups by Sun signs. As an opening activity and into rows by element. The results were interesting. My last bo...

Saturday, June 10, 2006. 8 Random Facts About Me. I see I've just been tagged by the BigSky-Astrologer herself. Thanks, April. :-). These 8 random facts.why are they so hard to come up with? It's set, but I just can't help. 2) I was a really effeminate little kid up until like, the 7th grade. 3) I really like showing off in class. I know, it's bad, but what can I say? 4) I don't like dark chocolate. Milk chocolate for me, please. 8) I found this random-eight-facts-thing really. I have no one to tag here&...

Saturday, December 10, 2005. Sixteen and Six Months. My half-birthday was a few days ago. I can't believe it's been six months already. Six months sixteen, and I. Don't have my drivers' license! Looking back at my solar return for the year, SR Saturn is trine SR Mars, while transiting Saturn was conjunct natal Mars. Restriction (Saturn) of mobility (Mars)? You'd think I'd be overcome by the eagerness to do work, to tackle all my responsibilities, and to become an efficient work machine. I'm pretty much y...

Monday, May 29, 2006. The End is Near. I can't believe it, I just can't believe it. 5 days and 6 Finals completes my third year of high school. Maybe I'm just overdramatizing, but damnit, I feel like I've settled for second-best. My grades are good, I'll admit, but they could've been better. A 3.7 is not a 4.0. As and Bs are not straight As. A 30 is not a 36. How many times have I gone to class only partly prepared? How much time have I wasted when I could've been studying? Well, first things first: I'm ...

Saturday, February 04, 2006. Talk about astrological timing - Pluto. Secretly slips into my Fourth House. Like some sort of bandit sneaking through the backdoor under the cover of night - and he arrives as a letter from my father's daughters. It's a New Year's card addressed to my father, nauseatingly sweet. "Happy New Year, Daddy," they say, "We're wishing you good health and strength, wealth and happiness. We're also praying for all things holy to watch over you.". Oh, gag me please. Is a mysterious pl...

Magic to make the sanest man go mad." To Fitzgerald, it's woven of "the hunger of longing, the touching of lips," and to Butler "love, desire, and that sweet flattery which steals the judgement even of the most prudent.". Monday, July 18, 2005. Post - High School Ponderings. Seems like the only thing on everyone's mind this summer is college, post-high school plans, and the Great-Big-World-Out-There. It seems to be popping up in conversations more often than ever now. Where once before a simple question such as "What's up? I'm at a loss. Will I do after high school? Will I major in? I be doing as a career? To work towards, a tentative plan at the very least. But as for me, I don't know where I'm going. Sounds great, right?
