A day in the life of our family. On Sunday at church, the kids heard a story about Naaman, the army commander who had leprosy and was healed when he washed in the Jordan river. After church, I took David potty and noticed red blotches all over his torso. Joshua found out about David's mysterious rash and told one of his friends about it. I overheard the friend ask, "What is a rash? And Joshua responded, "Well - remember Naaman? Posted by Chris and Maria Kinsinger. The Things Kids Say. In baby news (week ...

They have dubbed him Dru for qua. Ple I like it.). Congratulations Rob, Christine, and big sis Sharon! Posted by Chris and Maria Kinsinger. A day in the life of our family. Here is the last round of pre-#3 pictures. These are rather out of order, but maybe that will help you experience our whirlwind of activities in a more realistic fashion! June pics are first, then May. Enjoy! Even David can climb this wall now! There goes monkey Josh too. A playdough sandwich at the pool? Joshua loves to paddle about in this ring. David likes it too but not so much. Another handsome fearless flyer. Hot, tired, and happy strawberry pickers. For one family ...

Classic Kinsinger: July 2009

A day in the life of our family. We're back from vacation! It was a wonderfully relaxing trip. We stayed with our friends the Brinsons, who moved to John's Island from Gaithersburg about 6 months ago, and their amazing hospitality allowed us to get plenty of R&R. To more fully appreciate the extent of their hospitality, realize that South Carolina in July is HOT, and our hostess Christine is 8 months pregnant. Wandered around downtown Charleston's stately old homes, and watched boats. When we went downto...

A day in the life of our family. Really there's so much to tell you I don't know where to start, and I feel like I don't have enough time, but every time I see that ancient post I vow to get something new up there, so here it is! A day in the life of our family. Gas and Steam Show '09. It was quite loud while the saw was cutting through the log. This was exciting. A non-motorized road grader that had to be towed. They're having a great time even though it doesn't look like it. David observed that they rode in a tank car - I guess he was right! Trying to pull a heavy trailer but not quite able to get it going. Vintage cars and trucks. The pink Farmall antique tractor. Just had to post it. What a beautiful day it was! We're a littl...

He was on the team that built the original Unix OS in the 1970’s. Now he works on their server operating system, which serve the fastest pages in the world. I just read through the presentation (pdf). The success of PCs is in large part due to the fact that, by making all hardware equivalent, good software enabled bad hardware.
