I didn’t know that was a term until I met a facebook friend in real life and he said ‘Oh yeah, you’re the Selfie guy’. So you live and learn. Manavgat is a town 110 km from the city of Antalya. Manavgat River has a famous waterfall. The mountains are covered in forest and typical Mediterranean shrubs, there are small plains higher in the moutains too, traditionally used for summer grazing by the yörük nomads. Manavgat has a Mediterranean climate of hot summers and warm, wet winter. The district is watered by the Manavgat River, which is dammed for hydro-electric power in two places. In the Middle Ages, Venetians, Genoese and Rhodians built two fortresses along the coast, but by the 15th century Olympos had been abandoned.
