Bindweed Farm: March 2013
http://bindweedfarm.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 31, 2013. Buona Pasqua- Happy Easter. Saturday, March 30, 2013. Fresh Cuts: April 1. What a difference a week can make. I took this shot last Friday- awestruck as the sun burst through the clouds and streaked the horizon. The golf cart so forlorn, prayer flags frosty and the water in the flower buckets frozen- beautiful and harsh. Within a few hours of sunrise a new batch of Icelandic Poppies open to greet the day. The Bells of Ireland, planted in early February are gaining ground too.

http://bindweedfarm.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 26, 2014. With bright clear skies and more daylight each day, inside the greenhouses it is spring. The tulip beds are very active and getting fuller and greener by the minute. No heads forming yet, but it will not be long. As soon as we begin to heat the greenhouses for the tulips we fill the beds. First in were the sweet peas. RT planting stock seedlings. Ian, our new help, got up close and personal with work at Bindweed planting several hundred seedlings. Welcome aboard Ian!

Bindweed Farm: September 2013
http://bindweedfarm.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 1, 2013. Fresh Cuts: Sept. 1-8. As I write the sun is a giant fuchsia ball above the foothills.and this time it is not from the fires in Sun Valley but from some much more near. We are all safe but the red sun and smoke-hazed skies are a constant reminder of the tinder box conditions right now. Asclepias- gorgeous orange and deep orange pearls that pop into star-shaped citrus flowers. Atriplex- sequin shaped seeds on long spires in lime and (to the left) ruby. Chasmanthium aka Sea Oats.

Bindweed Farm: May 2013
http://bindweedfarm.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 31, 2013. Lilacs are Simply Luscious. Southeast Idaho is littered with lilacs. They pop out each spring, right around my Grandmother's birthday. They bloom with abandon along the roadsides, in overgrown vacant lots, next to tumbled down barns and abandoned creaky farm houses. A fresh armload- sink load- of deep purple lilac. Thanks Gram, for all the good stuff. Thursday, May 30, 2013. Fresh Cuts: June 3. It is the last day of May and we are in over our heads- literally! Hawthorne tree in bloom.

Bindweed Farm: January 2014
http://bindweedfarm.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Sweet peas for spring. Sweet pea starts January 9. Outside it is below freezing, snow is falling like powdered sugar and the foothills, heck the road out front has disappeared in the storm.but inside green life goes on. Earlier this month we started the first seedlings- sweet peas. This has been the brightest January I can remember and it has really boosted the seedlings. LOL- wouldn't that be cool.) But they need to hang on a few more days. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). All im...
