Research Activities @ Biophysics. Biophysics and Cancer Therapy @. The biophysics group is an interdisciplinary collaboration of radiobiologists, physicists, chemists, biochemists and technicians. Basic research activities comprise cellular, chromosomal and DNA damage induction by heavy ions from the SIS and UNILAC accelerators. However, most of our efforts are devoted to the tumour radiotherapy which started in December 1997 with the irradiation of the first two patients.
