Frequently Asked Questions - Tilling
http://tilling.ucdavis.edu/index.php/Frequently_Asked_Questions
How long will it take? Once our queue is filled, about 3-6 months. Depending on the wait list for our HiSeq2000, it could take longer. Sequencing itself takes a full month. What is a queue? We need to have enough orders before we can start processing orders. Our queue is 20-30 orders. In the event where we do not have many orders, we may be able to offer a smaller screening option. The screen size options will range from units of 512 individuals and the prices will be adjusted proportionately. Can I subm...

Arabidopsis TILLING - Tilling

Results with 4x arabidopsis population. We provide two populations to TILL arabidopsis. The first (being implemented) is the diploid A. thaliana population developed by STP in Seattle. The second is a tetraploid population developed at UCD. The choice of system should be helped by the description below. This is the well proven population. From which almost 10,000 mutations. The DNA is being rearrayed to fit the 3D-pooling. Mutant -/-/ / x diploid /. F1 -/ / x diploid /. We have a set of over 500 lines....

Unix and Perl Course. This is the website for Ian Korf's research group at the Genome Center. Since 2004 we have been developing bioinformatics solutions to help tackle problems - both large and small - in the fast-moving field of genomics. Much of the research in our lab builds on collaborations with others, both at UC Davis and also further afield. Explore this site to find out more about what we do. In our lab, and the software tools and data. That are available for you to use. Korf Lab in the news.

Unix & Perl Primer for Biologists
http://korflab.ucdavis.edu/Unix_and_Perl/index.html
Unix and Perl Course. Unix and Perl Primer for Biologists. We have written a basic introductory course for biologists to learn the essential aspects of the Perl programming language. This started as a course for grad students at UC Davis. And we then ran it as a one week intensive course for anyone on campus who was interested (sponsored by the UC Davis Genome Center. The feedback from these courses was very positive and so we have decided that we should make it available to anyone who is interested.
