一方、地域住民の ふるさとの川 の 思い は深く、農村において失われつつある清流環境 景観 再生への期待は大きいのです。 生息地の条件としては、 水枯れしない隠れ家があること 、 餌となる小魚や昆虫類が生息していること 、 流れに淵や瀬があり、ある程度の水量があること 、 水温が高すぎないこと とくに夏場の水温が25 以上にならないこと が考えられます。 岡山県北部に位置する真庭地域は、岡山県三大河川の一つ旭川の上流域 源流含む にあり、その河川域は国により 特別天然記念物オオサンショウウオ棲息地 の指定を受けいて、オオサンショウウオを頂点とする地域固有の生態系が維持されています。 調査は、オオサンショウウオの生息する河川水辺について、植生、水生生物の生息状況、河川形状、人の手の加わり方を調査し、生物多様性を把握することで、人とオオサンショウウオとの川を通じての係わりを解明し、河川生態系の保全を目的に 人と川との共生関係 や 河川工事における地域住民参加型の野生生物保護工法 を考えるにあたって必要な環境情報を収集するものです。
